This is our final edit. I did the filming and directing of our film. Victoria did the costume design and Kika did the editing on iMovie. The differences in our final edit are;

  • The colour and style of the font was changed from yellow to red to suit our genre better and give more of an implication of romance.
  • The dialogue and background music were evened out so that the actors were heard better and the music was quieter but still heard.
  • Some of the shots were tightened.
  • The volume of some clips was increased because they were hard to hear.
  • An exra clip of the classrooms was added because our film was too short

Side note-

When Kika was editing our final video she did not write up the credits for the work I did. Despite my directing and filming not being credited in the titles, the work I did is still valid even if it is not stated in the video. She mistakenly put down my name as who the story line was made by when in fact, Victoria wrote our storyline. Kika did the editing. I did the filming.

Evaluation Task 8

The audience feedback Task”

In this Task I messaged people on Facebook. I sent a message asking for feedback on what they liked and did not like. I sent a link to my video along with the message.

Below are the screenshots of the responses I received from some people I asked.

The most commonly occurring suggestions were, to;

  • Improve the quality of the video (which I did, I uploaded a better quality version of the video as it was quite blurry)
  • The actors don’t speak clear enough (this was not within our control to change but we did try to get our actors to speak loud and clear for the camera)
  • The ending was too ‘abrupt’
  • The storyline was a little bit hard to follow for some of the viewers
  • The credits were too large

The positive responses from people were;

  • The shots were interesting and unique in the way they were filmed and in their diversity
  • The use of the school environment was clever and affective
  • The angle of some of the shots were really appreciated
  • The storyline is really interesting
  • Has good comedic moments
  • The beginning is good
  • The music works well integrated with the sound of the characters talking
  • The acting is good
  • Did well as it is a very hard genre to portray

Evaluation Task 7

“Looking back at your preliminary task, what do you feel you have learnt in the progression from it to the full product?”

Below is the PowToon video I made explaining the things I learnt and changed through the process of improving my film from the preliminary task to the full product. I felt that making a PowToon video is an interesting way to display my information.

Feel free to pause the video at any time to read the information as the slides move quite fast even though I set them to the longest length of time possible.

Evaluation task 6

“What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product?”

I made a video describing all the technologies that I have learnt from the process of constructing my media product.

In the video, I failed to mention that I also learnt how to hyperlink and share videos and links. I also learnt how to use social media to gain attention to my work and use my social media apps beneficially, an example of this would be through apps such as Whatsapp and Facebook where I asked for feedback and reviews on my videos and blog from family and friends.

Throughout my experience in constructing my media product I used many tools, apps and resources to improve my blog up to the level I want it to be and to keep it interesting. I did make a PowToon video for this post but my laptop will not allow me to download Adobe Flashplayer so unfortunately I could not download the video to post on here.

Evaluatin Task 5

21673

“How did you attract/adress your audience?”

I used my app, Notability to annotate my video and I explained how different aspects of each shot or scene from my film attracted my target audience. I used my knowledge of what a typical member of my target audience might expect to see in my film and looked into the ways in which they would be attracted to specific aspects of my film.

Above are the screenshots from the annotations I created.

Final Edit

This is our final edit. I did the filming and directing of our film. Victoria did the costume design and Kika did the editing on iMovie. The differences in our final edit are;

Evaluation task 4

“Create your perfect audience member, give them a background, a picture, a ‘tribe’. Using   www.uktribes.com and  http://www.channel4.com/programmes/find-your-tribe suggest what music they might listen to, what they watch, what films they would go and see.”

My perfect audience members enjoy eating salad and pizza. They love Starbucks, Ed Sheeran, Taylor Swift and any mainstream chart music. They are obsessed with Romantic Comedies and love going to the cinema together in groups of friends which benefits me and the media industry. The girls I filmed both represent my perfect audience members very well as they are 17 years old, they are middle/upper class, from small cities and watch romantic comedies as groups of friends.

From my research on UkTribes I found that my perfect audience member would most likely be part of the ‘Mainstream Tribe’. Typically keeping up to date with the latest music, films, TV shows. They are loyal to their groups of friends and their families and would therefore likely be loyal consumers of my media products. Mainstream tribe members are always discussing the latest news on social media feeds and always keep their Instagram and snapchat updated. This would be beneficial for me because their posts would spread awareness of my new film and they would all be aware of my film coming out because, as Mainstream tribe members they would definitely hear about it on their social media feeds before most other people.
